The service life of Al2O3-SiC-C castable for iron channel is affected by many factors. When the iron trench material is used, the inner lining of the iron trench will be repeatedly subjected to the process of high-temperature molten iron and slag. The thermal shock caused by the temperature change of rapid cooling and heating is easy to cause the thermal shock damage of the iron trench material; at the same time, the erosion of high-temperature molten iron will cause the wear and peeling of the iron trench material; and the penetration and erosion of high-temperature slag will cause the continuous dissolution of the castable to damage. In addition, the carbon containing material in the iron trench material will oxidize when contacting with air at high temperature. The following is an analysis of the damage mechanism in these aspects.
